Our Heritage range of timber sash windows has been specifically designed for listed buildings, where approval is required. As a sash windows London-based company, we have gained the wealth of experience needed to lead projects with strict conservation restrictions.

The collection features lambs’ tongue and putty style bead mouldings and bars, angel locks for child safety, decorative horn details and slim frame sections. Available in both spiral balance or cords & weights options, with a single glaze 4mm glass or slimline 14mm glass.

FAQs

How do box sash windows work?

Timber box sash windows are the traditional style of window. The difference between a box sash and spring sash is mechanical. A box sash window has a system of weights and pulleys on a piece of cord, which counterbalances the sash and enables an easier movement of the window. This system is usually hidden from view, as it is built into the side of each window. Box sash windows often have a thicker frame to house this system.

Do sash windows open both ways?

Depending on your requirements, box sash windows can be made to open either at the top or the bottom. A ‘double hung’ sash window means you can have the best of both worlds and slide the bottom sash upwards or the top sash downwards.
