Why It All Began?

After a number of years dealing with companies with extended supply chains with a lack of a close working relationships on the manufacturing side, here at Nine Zero we felt that working like this didn’t give us the flexibility and control that was required to push forward in a number of important business aspects including design, sustainability and customer relations.

We decided to take on the challenge of manufacturing products of our own. As a company, we wanted more of a connection with where the products were coming from and a way of resolving constant restrictions & common communication and timescale issues that were arising.

The team of directors also wanted more control over our carbon footprint, setting up production in Cornwall was the obvious choice for many reasons. The international transport impact was resolved, the use of purely sustainable energy to run the new machinery in the workshop, using solely solar, wind and biomass energy to fuel the factory as well as the added benefit of reusing all of our timber waste on the surrounding working farms.

So in 2017, a joint business venture began with a combination of over 30 years in both industry business experience and top-level joinery. Following significant investment, Nine Zero was able to push forward with its beliefs and its vision.
